Scholarships

Scholarships and awards are available for eligible HDR candidates at UOW. These scholarships include annual stipends, living allowances and tuition fee costs.

2026 Main round scholarships

Future and current students are encouraged to apply for the 2026 Main Round scholarships to commence in Autumn 2026.

  • Domestic applications are open until 3 October 2025

Opportunities

Charge-Controlled Materials for Separations of Important Resources Scholarship

This project aims to develop new microporous metal-organic framework materials that are better molecular discriminators than current technologies for the sequestration of important metal-ion resources. New charge-controlled metal-organic frameworks with precisely manipulated pore spaces will be developed and explored in novel, low energy separations with the aim of contributing to efficient low-energy future technologies for industrially important separation processes.

Scholarship amount: Successful candidates will receive a tax-free full time stipend of $35,522 p.a. for the duration of the award (including increments).
Domestic candidates will be provided with a Research Training Program Offset which will cover tuition fees for a maximum of 4 years full time. 
International candidates will be provided with an International Postgraduate Tuition Award which will cover tuition fees for a maximum of 4 years full time.

Prestigious PhD Scholarships in Engineering disciplines

A national research entity funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and headquartered at the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (UOW), ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC) for Innovative Composites for the Future of Mining Equipment (Composites for Sustainable Mining) is comprised of seven Australian universities (participating organisations) and eight local and international industry organisations.

Fulbright Future Scholarships

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission offers scholarships to Australian citizens across all career stages. The UOW Research Career Launch Scholarships are designed to jump start careers of young researchers by supporting them after the submission of their thesis.
