Our reputation for academic excellence and commitment to student experience is complemented by our strong focus on innovation and community impact. From producing highly employable graduates to pioneering research in areas like clean energy and healthcare, UOW continues to work on innovative solutions that address society’s greatest challenges.
UOW performed exceptionally well in the 2024 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey, outperforming national benchmarks in several categories, including teaching quality, student support and learning resources. 87.6 per cent of UOW graduates found employment within four months of graduating.
We are proud to be recognised as a leader in delivering participation and attainment outcomes for students traditionally underrepresented at university. In 2024, the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ topped the Australian Financial Review’s Best ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Rankings for equity, demonstrating our success in supporting students from regional, Indigenous and low socioeconomic backgrounds.
UOW ranks 2nd nationally and 16th globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Rankings. In the 2024 THE Impact Rankings, UOW was placed equal 44th globally and 9th in Australia, reflecting our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Times Higher Education (THE) World ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Rankings by Subject 2025 further highlighted our academic excellence, with UOW ranked in the top 200 globally for five of the 11 subject areas, including law and engineering, which also ranked equal 8th nationally. These achievements show the strength of our teaching and research across diverse disciplines.
As we mark our 50th anniversary this year, we celebrate five decades of significant contributions in teaching, research and academic excellence. This milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and chart a course for the next 50 years, with a renewed focus on sustainability, equity and innovation.
